Purpose: To provide support to a community event involving a variety of vehicle displays (police cars, ambulance, garbage trucks, earthmovers, semi trucks, fire engines, etc.). Proceeds from admission costs fund school curriculum on mechanical repair and to encourage youth to consider transportation-related careers.
Duties: Communications with organizers, observing crowds, identifying and assisting with incidents such as medical emergencies, lost children, etc. Assist with parking control. Once on site, there is moderate walking involved. REACT has a booth to hand out literature and to give team members a break. Bring a chair to leave at the booth and any food items.
Time commitment: 0700 - 1600 ( 9 hours) for all participants.
Location: Just north of the San Diego river in Lakeside in a 25 acre fenced dirt lot along Riverside Avenue.
Equipment Requirements: The event is HT friendly. Southwestern REACT provides a canopy and table. Bring a chair.
